Business Websites: Versatile Tools

No matter what kind of business you own or what industry you work in, your business can benefit from creating a website. Internet marketing is one of the most effective ways to get more customers!

Even if you can’t actually deliver your products or services online (for example, a plumber can’t exactly fix a client’s sink over the Internet), you still need a business website. Regardless of how you actually deliver your products or services, your potential customers are still trying to find your company online.

customers look for you online

People don’t use the phone book to look for businesses anymore. In fact, a recent study discovered that almost 70% of adults rarely or never use the phone book to find businesses, products, or services. Instead, people now use the Internet to look for companies. If consumers can’t find a business website for your company, you can be sure they’ll discover your competitors’ websites instead.

Starting a website also makes your business look more credible. For one thing, consumers tend to trust a business more if it has a high-quality website. Plus, with a business website you can create professional email addresses for your company, like help@yourbusiness.com and sales@yourbusiness.com. Many consumers won’t even consider doing business with you if you use a free email account like Gmail or Hotmail because it makes your company look unprofessional.

It’s more important than ever that you take your business online with a business website. Your customers are looking for you online – make sure they can find you!

Your Competitors All Have Websites!

All of your competitors have websites. That alone should make you want one, but if that’s not enough consider the following facts.

For one thing, 75% of small businesses (including your competitors) show up in the search engine results. When you consider that 85% of consumers search for businesses online, that means lots and lots of potential customers are going to find your competitors’ websites. If you want to claim your share of that market, you need to have a website too.

Julieann says:

if I select no on having my website listed in the search engines and want to do it tomorrow, will I have to pay the normal $299 fee? And will I be charged again later to keep it in the search engine?

    Beth Marcus says:

@Julieann – Our search engine visibility service is actually only $99. It’s a one-time fee, and there is no extra fee to keep your site listed. Keep in mind, however, that once we have submitted your site to the search engines, they use their own formulas to determine where to rank your website. If you’d like to add search engine visibility to your website for $99, you can do so by logging into your account at login.freewebsite.com and then clicking on “Upgrades.” You will see it listed there :)

Two thumbs up, thank you for the great website!

Cedric says:

I have a domain name I’ve owned for years. Can I use that name I already own to build a website with? Or would I have to purchase a new one?

    Beth Marcus says:

@Cedric – Yes! You can point or transfer your domain to us. Contact us for more details :)

This looks really easy to do! I think that my business could really benefit from having a website from freewebsite.com. Thank you for the information!

Hudson Filmore says:

The truth is I have been on the fence about building a website for my waterproofing company. I understand the point here, and even understand the value in the scope of “building a brand.” What really drove this article home for me was building credibility, reason being, although a lot of my local business clients come from word of mouth, as the evolution of the internet continues, people get their information from different sources. 15 years ago people turned to the yellow pages to find local companies that could complete their home repair services, now people just “Google It.” Its a whole new world…

I am sold, thank you for your insight and advice. I look forward to setting up FilmoreServicesandRepairs.com.

I’ve tried a few different website programs over the last year, and so far I like your website editor the best. It’s the easiest to use and you don’t have to be very technical to make your site look nice. Perfect for me, my 10 y/o niece is better at computers than I am.

BG says:

paul says:

Do you really offer free custom website design? I currently have an ecommerce website selling health supplements that I am totally unhappy with. It is old and boring. I’m looking for a new website with flash intro photo galleries, 1 click product image adding, mobile app, customer coupons, product reviews, blogs, seo, social media, easy emailers, newsletters, etc

Kim Breveral says:

thank you for my business website! looking forward to working with you for a long time

Jim Rice says:

What is the difference between business website and e-commerce website?

    Beth Marcus says:

@Jim – An ecommerce website has functionality build in that allows a visitor to purchase something and send payment right on your website. A business website without ecommerce functionality is simply a way for you to provide information about your business. I hope this helps!

Peter says:

When I started a website my business more then doubled.
